The Shepton Mallet Tourist Information and Heritage Centre is conveniently situated at the top High Street. It is open from 10am to 4.30pm on Mondays to Fridays from April to October and from 10am to 4pm from November to March, and is also open from 10am to 3pm Saturdays from April to October and 10am to 2pm November to March.

Services available at the Centre include

  • Information on local hotels, bed-and-breakfast, farmhouse, self-catering and camping accommodation
  • Accommodation booking service
  • A wide range of free information on attractions, accommodation, theatres, events, transport, cycling and walks;
  • Saver tickets for events and attractions in the town and surrounding countryside including major events at the Royal Bath and West Showground and the Glastonbury Extravaganza
  • Tickets for Southwest, Avalon and Clapton Coach Tours
  • Maps, postcards, books, pictures, local souvenirs, walks leaflets, guides and Heritage trails
  • The social and industrial history of the town, from pre-Roman times to the present day, is depicted in displays within the Centre which also hosts thematic exhibitions on industrial and commercial activities in the town.
